In addition to off-road vehicles for display, Lucas Oil provides racers to attend the event and sign autographs.

Peltzer Family Cellars, Peltzer Farms and the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series partnered up Saturday, Sept. 29, for the fundraising event "Stomp Out Cancer" to benefit Support the Kid.

The event coincided with Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

"What better way to bring attention to something like childhood cancer than an outdoor event at a place like this with lots of children stuff going on," Dina DeCaro said of Support the Kid.

Support the Kid has helped raise over $400,000 for children battling cancer all over the country. They are an all-volunteer nonprofit organization who strives to help families pay for their child's treatments, travel, lodging and meals.

The group was founded by DeCaro's cousin in support of another cousin who was undergoing cancer treatment a few years ago. The group has teams in New York, Oklahoma, Dallas, San Francisco and San Diego.

"We work with kids all around the country who are fighting cancer or who have completed treatment and are under the age of 18," DeCaro said. "Our goal is to give at least 85 percent of every dollar back, we do our best to keep the overhead as low as possible so that all the money can go back to the kids. So, it really is our passion project – for my cousin."

Support the Kid was the recent beneficiary of Peltzer movie night, where a strong connection was made, they said.

"Then we decided to do this today," Carrie Peltzer, co-owner of Peltzer Family Cellars, said. "We partnered with Lucas Oil to bring more people here for the event. We're excited.

"Childhood cancer sticks with a lot of people and it hits so close to home for a lot of people and we figured the more people we could get here, the more money we could raise for them," Peltzer said. "It's all about the kids, the farm is about the kids, and all of this is near and dear to our heart."

Everything the property features was included in the $5 required donation to attend the event.

The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series provides off-road racing vehicles for display during the Stomp Out Cancer event.

Children, adults and professional race car drivers had the opportunity to enter in to grape stomp competitions, there was live music, an autograph session with the racers, a scavenger hunt, food trucks and beer provided by Refuge Brewery Craft Beers.

For one day only, the Peltzer Pumpkin Farm was open with no admission fee and included pig races, train rides, face painting, pony rides, petting zoo, gem panning, carnival games and pumpkins.

"We actually have a kid from Menifee who is 4 years old, if his health permits, we will be presenting him with a check today," DeCaro said. "We only know that child because of Lucas Oil, who connected through the Peltzer community, and we gave the mom a call. We are proud of this partnership, and all the good that will be done today."
